Cancer Care

Few diseases evoke as much emotion as cancer. Most people will have had or have a personal experience with cancer either in themselves, a family member or a close personal friend. Increasingly, people are also encountering cancer in their pets as improvements in nutrition and preventative health-care have resulted in longer lives.

Dentistry

Our Dental Services

Dental x-rays, ultrasonic scaling, polishing and periodontal surgery are some of the procedures we offer to our patients.

Each year your pet receives an oral examination as part of their annual examination/vaccination. A complete oral examination is necessary in identifying abnormalities and forming a treatment plan. Many of the problems are quite apparent at this time while others must be evaluated using an anaesthetic.

Charting a patient's mouth is the recording of abnormalities in a pet's medical record for future reference or to design a treatment plan. Cats have 30 permanent teeth and dogs have 42 to keep track of.

The frequency of dental prophylaxis varies between each pet and is dependent on the stage of the disease and ability of a pet owner to offer preventative home care.

Our Goal

Our goal is to make you aware of the benefits of regular dental care. Just as you brush your teeth and have them professionally cleaned for good overall health and appearance, your pet requires the same care.

Ultrasonography

The advanced diagnostic technique of ultrasound has become a standard of care in veterinary medicine allowing the Veterinarian the opportunity to see images of the internal organs and structures giving information about the patient quickly, safely and without the need for surgery.

In House Laboratory

Clinical pathology involves the laboratory evaluation of blood, fluids or body tissues in order to identify existing disease. Common laboratory tests include blood chemistries, complete blood counts, blood clotting times, urinalysis, faecal tests, biopsy examination, bacterial/fungal cultures and infectious disease testing.

Radiology

In late 2015,we upgraded our x-ray technology to Digital XR.

It is the latest of what is available in the human field and provides us with crystal clear images in minutes, and is stored and iewes on our internet based Veterinary software programme.

We take radiography safety seriously to protect your pet (and our staff) during the procedure. Our clinic is fully certified to perfomr x-rays and our staff are all trained in the correct techniques and positioning.

Surgery

We are fully equipped and experienced to perform general and more complex surgeries – everything from desexing and lump removals through to complicated skin reconstruction, emergency surgery and orthopaedics.

Our surgical nursing team are fully trained in all aspects of anaesthesia and every patient has a dedicated surgical nurse and hospital nurse throughout the admission, pre-surgical preparation, surgery and recovery stages.

We use safe, modern anaesthetic protocols and have the use of comprehensive monitoring equipment to closely monitor patients continuously throughout their procedure.
